which, in all honesty, made it the best place to look for treats for her pokemon. the name brand stuff, too; she had a little extra money, and looking for something for her girlfriend had meant coming up short fairly fast. but there was some fancier store meant for pokemon that she had seen a couple of times before, usually too intimidated to actually go in.

but this time, she had decided to look around, barely giving the other shopper a second glance (even if she was very pink, honestly, and that as saying something for flora).

not even an approaching apocalypse could change orchid’s nature; hellbent as ever on spoiling her favorite little creatures, she’s gone to quite a nice little store in the mall. luckily for her (though perhaps not so luckily for the rest of hoenn) the concern over the meteor has appeared to somewhat clear it out, so she doesn’t bother with any sort of way to hide herself.

although, she isn’t sure she would even if it’d been crowded; who wants to spent their last months unacknowledged?

running a hand over the boxes of treats before her, she ponders which one to get. she knows her lovely little quartz likes a specific brand, but sweet guppy likes an entirely separate one. pond refuses to eat one of them, and petal… is petal. she’s perhaps the only one of her little ones that gives her zero grief over whatever she chooses to get.

whatever, it’s the end of the world. the little ones are getting whatever they want, she decides, throwing things into the cart before her. this leads to her turning rather quickly.

she’s startled by the presence of another woman with pink hair (stealing her brand, much?) not too far from herself. she seems to maybe be debating what to get.

“if you have little furry ones,” she breaks the silence, unable to bear being in another’s presence without acknowledgement, “they like these,” she gestures at the shelf behind her.

flora would have thought that being alone in a mostly-abandoned store was enough to be left alone, half to sulk in her own imminent doom and half to try to figure out which box had better ingridents for bigger dog pokemon. the image on one box was more poorly edited, honestly, but the other was...expensive, and from what she could tell, the few in the back had been mostly untouched.

the other woman speaks up, and flora jolts a little- honestly, she had been so caught up in trying to find a good brand that she had forgotten the woman was there. it takes a moment for her to process, part of her brain stuck in something like disgust that someone could wear so much pink- not even a soft pink, either. maybe it was hypocritical of flora, with her own preference for pastels, but at least she didn't look like a walking fashion disaster.

"i wouldn't say they're little, exactly." she can't deny the rest, but she doesn't make a move to reach for the boxes just yet. honestly, with what flora has already decided is just poor judgement in fashion, she's not sure she trusts the judgement in pokemon treats, either.
